Gjipe Bayis located to the northwest of Jale Beach (Jali i Vunoit). It is formed by the Gjipe Stream, which has a deep bed and a 200-meter-wide mouth. The stream is flanked by very steep and high cliffs, reaching up to 150 meters in heightwith a nearly vertical slope of about 90°. The stream and its canyon are visible from the sea at a distance of 2–3 nautical miles.
The Jali Gorge and Beachare connected to the village of Vunovia paved roads. These roads are part of the coastal routethat links four villages to Vloraand Saranda.
Depths and Navigation
The depths in the gorgeare generally good. The 5-meter isobathruns almost directly alongside the northern and southern shores, while along the eastern shore, it lies 40–50 meters offshore. Small motorboats can dock directly on the rocksof the southern shore, where remnants of an old pierare still visible.
The gorge is mostly protected from northern, eastern, and southeastern winds, making it relatively safe for small vessels.
